Metcalfe FFA students win big at state fair
Metcalfe County High School’s Future Farmers of America chapter was awarded a Grand Champion award for their agriculture mechanics display during the Kentucky State Fair.
The display featured various projects the students had built throughout the school year.
“Each chapter has to have five exhibits to be considered for the chapter win,” said David McKinney, FFA adviser at Metcalfe County High School. “This makes two years that we’ve won it.”
One of the projects included in the exhibit was a 16-foot bumper-pulled equipment trailer, another one was a set of ramps used to load items on the trailer.
Other projects included in the exhibit were: an inlaid game table, Adirondack lawn chairs and a hayfork built for a local farmer.
Students whose work was included in the exhibit are: Alex Holmes, Bryce Steele, Kendall Judd, Jordan Buys and B.J. Fields.
