Barren County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph D. Walden was presented a Purple Heart and the Medal of Valor from Glasgow Mayor Darrell Pickett in council chambers at city hall Monday morning. Walden was wounded during a shooting incident at a residence on McKenna Street on June 20, 2007, in which two people died. He was an officer with the Glasgow Police Department at that time.
