GLASGOW — MEETING: Glasgow-Barren County Industrial Development and Economic Authority

ACTIONS: IDEA board members approved the following: minutes of the Oct. 30, 2009, meeting and the October operating and capital fund financial reports.
REPORTS: Charlie Campbell gave the monthly financial committee report. There were no property committee or administrative committee reports for the month of October. Dan Iacconi gave the executive director’s report. He presented information on a Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Valley Investment Initiative, which is an incentive program for existing industries to cut their future electrical usage costs. Four local companies, Bluegrass Dairy, Burkmann Feed, Felker Bros. and RR Donnelley have already expressed interest in the program. IDEA Chairman Owen Lambert and Iacconi traveled to Louisville to meet with representatives of Hilliard Lyons for a bond review to investigate what type of bonding is available for local industrial development. Iacconi gave an update on the IDEA and Think Kentucky Web sites. He spoke about activity involving the Sitel building and a recent meeting locally with Jim Navalio and Corky Peek with the Kentucky Cabinet of Economic Development. Iacconi reported on meeting with Taylor, Polson & Co., CPAs, PSC, concerning an upcoming IDEA audit and told the board about the status of Carhartt.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: The board voted to go into closed session, but took no action out of the session.
