FSP announces auditon dates
Fountain Square Players will conduct auditions for “The Dixie Swim Club,” written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, and directed by Lynn Gilcrease, on March 30-31. The script calls for five women.
Characters will be portrayed at ages 44, 49, 54 and 77. The play is about five southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, and have set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships.
“The Dixie Swim Club” focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of 30 years. As their lives unfold and the years pass, the women increasingly rely on one another, through advice and raucous repartee, to get through the challenges (men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, aging) that life flings at them.
Auditions will be held at Fountain Square Players, 313 State St., Bowling Green, from 7 to 9 p.m. Performances will take place at The Phoenix Theater on May 20-23.
Help will also be needed with set construction, costumes, props and stage crew and other aspects of the production.
