HORSE CAVE —
The star of Kentucky Repertory Theater’s latest musical production, “Oliver,” is no stranger to the stage.
At just 12 years old, Noah Jones, who plays Oliver could be labeled as a veteran actor. He has already appeared in nine plays, three of which were at KRT. So why not do one more?
When Jones, of Bowling Green, learned KRT was going to do “Oliver,” he knew he wanted to audition for a role in the play. He tried out for both Oliver and the secondary character of Dodger.
“Oliver is one of the main characters and it’s always fun to try to go for one of the main characters, [but] Dodger is one of my favorite characters,” he said.
Jones portrayed the role of Dodger two years ago for Fountain Square Players in Bowling Green.
“It was a lot of fun being Dodger the first time so I thought it would be fun to do it again,” he said.
As the lead character, Jones has a lot of lines to remember, as well as lyrics to several songs.
“There is quite a lot, but I’ve gotten it down,” he said. “If you make sure you work on it every day for at least 30 minutes a day, it gets inside of your head.”
