It happened on an island: GHS’ new production

Musical plays on differences in island tale of gods, heroes and love

GLASGOW — For a crowd of high school students, a musical about embracing differences is something they can relate to. Living in a small place where everyone knows everyone is pretty close to the lives of the Glasgow High School students, too.

So when Ellen Murrey, director of theater and choirs for GHS, found the 1990 Broadway musical “Once on This Island,” she knew it would be a good experience for the students.
