GLASGOW —
Local art students will have another opportunity to show off their talents beginning this weekend.
The opening of the seventh annual Community Education Art Show will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center. Artwork in the exhibit will be on display for about a month, according to Marcus Kingrey with Community Education.
Approximately 80 artists, ranging in age from 20 to 80, will have paintings in the show. All of them have been students in Patty Hughes’ and John Wing’s acrylic painting classes during the past year.
A variety of different styles will be represented in the artists’ works including Impressionistic paintings, abstracts, still lifes, landscapes and paintings depicting people.
The event, which is sponsored by Community Education and SCKCC, is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
