‘All that Jazz and More’

GLASGOW — Dig the sound of jazz? Then don’t miss Glasgow High School Scottie Band’s jazz performance.

The band will present “All That Jazz and More” at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Glasgow First Christian Church on North Race Street.

The event is a dinner/concert featuring an evening of jazz, plus a three-course Italian meal. Proceeds will go to support the band’s operating costs.

“It’s a really neat event,” said Corey Bonds, band director. “The whole time … from the time [people] get out of their cars in the parking lot until they leave, it’s just going to be saturated with music performed by the kids.”

This marks the third year for the band to have the concert.

Concert-goers will be greeted by bagpipers at the entrance of the church. Once inside, they will be treated to a performance by the school’s jazz band, plus music by individual groups of band students.

“We’ve actually got so much … music going I’m going to have to set up two performance spots in the room,” Bonds said.

“We’ve tried to find ways to get kids more directly involved in the fundraising besides having to give them a box of something to sell or a catalog for someone to buy something out of,” Bonds said.
