HORSE CAVE — Kentucky Down Under will hold its annual Halloween Festival from Oct. 24 - 31. In addition to regular KDU exhibits, festival-goers will be able to choose between regular and spooky Halloween Cave tours, take part in a photo scavenger hunt for goodies, plus other haunting activities. The park will be decorated and the Kentucky Down Under employees will be in costumes.
Kentucky Down Under will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will close for the season at the end of Nov. 5. Kentucky Caverns will remain open daily.
Halloween Activities:
Trick or Treat Passport - Get your passport stamped in all the areas for a surprise goody bag - all week long!
Photo Scavenger Hunt - Families must identify all of the photos for a chance at a Family Season Pass - all week long!
Hay Maze - Crawl your way though our hay maze! Don't get lost - all week long!
Border Collie Bingo - On Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. — See if you can guess where Roxie the Rockstar will land.
Sheep Races - On Friday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. — join us for our very own Sheep Races — just consider it the Kentucky Derby Aussie Style. Prizes will be awarded for the top pick!
Spooky Didgeridoo Workshop - Make and learn to play your very own Didgeridoo! Cost is $10 for each Didgeridoo made — space is limited!
Kids Costume Contest - At 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31— we will have a costume contest with prizes to be awarded for the top three costumes.
Spooky Cave Tours will be available all week long there will be chances to get a little more thrill out of your cave tour! You chose a regular tour or something more frightful! For three nights only — Kentucky Down Under will conduct a Creepy Cave Tours of Kentucky Caverns. On Oct. 29 - 31 at 6 p.m. 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. lantern tours will be conducted of Kentucky Caverns. Tour sizes are limited to 25 people only. Tickets for the Creepy Cave are $13, plus tax and can be purchased in advance.
