TOMPKINSVILLE — The Friends of Old Mulkey are selling chances on a bench that stood in the meetinghouse from circa 1928 to 2007 when the bench had to be remove for safety purposes. There have been some nails strategically and discretely placed in the bench.
The Friends furnish a brass plaque with the bench stating its origin.
The winner is responsible for shipping. The chances are $1 each or six for $5. The tickets will be on sale through the Christmas Expo.
Anyone wishing to purchase chances can check with the park director or any member of the Friends of Old Mulkey.

KRT to present ‘Dracula’
HORSE CAVE — Kentucky Repertory Theatre will present “Dracula” through Nov. 15.
The biggest selling show in the history of the theatre, “Dracula,” adapted by Richard Rose from the gothic horror novel by Bram Stoker, promises to be scarier than ever.

‘They Came from Mars’
EDMONTON — “They Came From Mars and Landed Outside the Farndale Avenue Church Hall in Time for the Townswomen’s Guild’s Coffee Morning” will be presented by the Barn Lot Theater on Nov. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21 and Dec. 3, 4, 5 & 6 at 7 p.m.

Barn Lot announces 30th season
EDMONTON — Barn Lot Theater has announced its season line-up for 2010 featuring well-known shows chosen by the theater’s staff that Barn Lot had never done in the past.
The world-reknowned musical “Les Misérables” will open the season in March, followed by “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” in May. “Sleepy Hollow” was one of four plays that reception attendees were asked to vote on as the show they most wanted to see in 2010.
The Barn Lot Family Theater production in July will be “Disney’s Aladdin.” September will bring “To Kill a Mockingbird” and the season will close out with “Little Women” in November.
In addition to the five Barn Lot productions, the theater will host the MCHS production of “Grease” in January.

KRT to hold auditions
HORSE CAVE —Kentucky Repertory Theatre will hold student auditions for “The Miracle Worker” Nov. 18 -19.
The play is a professional production casting the following children roles: the role of Helen Keller, age 10-13; one African American girl, age 10-12; one African American boy, age 10-12; and girls at the institute for the blind, ages 10-15.

Silent auction under way
A silent auction that serves as a fundraiser for the Plaza Theatre is under way.
The theater is in need of a new rigging system and the marquee needs renovating.
