Flutist performs at BGTC
BOWLING GREEN — There will be two events featuring master flutist and lecturer Galen Abdur-Razzaq on Feb. 18 at Bowling Green Technical College.
A lecture/performance entitled “In the Tradition” will be held at noon in the Building F conference center. This lecture focuses on the “History of Jazz,” which chronicles music from the turn of the century to present day.
During the performance, students will learn the five pillars of jazz melody, harmony, rhythm, syncopation, and improvisation- and are provided with a demonstration of how each of these elements influence jazz.
An evening performance for the community will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kentucky Advance Technology Institute (KATI) Round Room. This event is free and open to the public.
‘Rave On’ to be featured at Plaza
“Rave On,” a tribute to rock 'n' roll legend Buddy Holly will be featured at the Plaza Theatre on March 25 at 7 p.m.
