Public Square to be closed for festival, 5K run

GLASGOW — Glasgow Public Square will be closed to vehicle Saturday starting at 5 a.m., in preparation for Global Fest and a 5K run.

The Glasgow Police Department said the closure will allow vendors to access the square in preparation for the festivities, which begin at 8 a.m.

Also Saturday, the Public Defenders Office will sponsor a 5K race starting at 8 a.m.

Runners will be travel along Kentucky Street, West Cherry Street, Columbia Avenue, Bunche Avenue and Leslie Avenue, according to the GPD.
