GLASGOW —
Chandra Taylor’s 7-6, 6-2 win over Hilary Rickard was Glasgow’s lone victory, as the Trojanettes downed the Lady Scotties in a tennis match at Gorin Park.
Due to weather, the match began Thursday and stretched into Friday, but the delay didn’t seem to phase Barren County. In singles: Laura Ross netted a win 6-0, 7-6 victory against MacLean Lessenberry; Ashley Grabowski aced Gretchen Bishop 8-0; Mitlin Nuckols fell to Amanda Shives 8-3; Haley Worman bested Elizabeth Garrett 8-1 and Lauren Ellis defeated Sarah Kate Vaughn 8-1.
In doubles: Grabowski and Laura Ross overtook Hannah Burd and Alexis Travis 6-1, 2-6; Rickard and Shives topped Morgan Mills and Pooja Santapuram; Hayley Worman and Lauren Ellis blanked Mariel Casian and Jodie Norris 8-0.
The Lady Scotties will attempt to rebound with a match against Warren East on Tuesday, while Barren will welcome Allen-County Scottsville the same afternoon.
Results for the Glasgow/Barren boys’ match were not immediately available.
