Woman arrested for burglary of burned home

GLASGOW — A woman was arrested Wednesday after allegedly attempting to steal items from a home damaged by fire over the weekend.

Stephanie Bell, 27, of Glasgow, was found by Glasgow police officers after they were called to residence on Bryan Street in reference to a possible burglary in progress.

When Officer Jabin McGuire and Sgt. Noah Coats arrived at the residence, they found Bell upstairs. She was ordered to exit the residence and when she was searched, a small box of jewelry was found, according to a release by the GPD.

The residence was heavily damaged by fire and had been boarded up to keep intruders out, the release stated, but Bell was able to enter through a door she opened in the basement.
