Names released from car, Amish buggy collision

Staff report

GLASGOW — Names have been released in connection with a wreck involving an Amish buggy on Ky. 1297 Thursday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.

Penny Peden, of Barren County, was travling west on Old Bowling Green Road when she came upon a buggy and couldn’t stop in time to avoid colliding with it.

Two women, Emma Hostetler and Lavina Hostetler, were in the buggy when the collision happened, causing one of them to be ejected.

She had a minor injury and refused treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

Deputy Bobby McCown investigated and was assisted at the scene by the South Barren Volunteer Fire Department and Barren-Metcalfe EMS

Sheriff Chris Eaton wants to remind citizens to exercise caution when traveling as there are many families in Railton and various other areas of the county who use buggies for transportation.
