GLASGOW — A large amount of crystal methamphetamine has been seized and four people are under arrest following a joint operation by several local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
The Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force, along with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police K-9 unit and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, arrived at a house at 609A Milton Avenue in Glasgow on Tuesday night to execute a search warrant for the residence and vehicles at the property.
Deputies and detectives discovered a large quantity of crystal meth, fraudulent prescriptions, suspected counterfeit money and other items of paraphernalia on the scene, according to a BCSO report.
Arrested were James W. Pedigo II, 33; Jennifer M. Rohlfing, 28; Bobby G. Howell, 33; and Angela M. Bulger, 30, all of whom were living at the residence on Milton Avenue.
An investigation had been ongoing by the drug task force for some time, according to Barren County Sheriff Chris Eaton. He said the suspects had been in and out of town for a couple of months.
The exact amount of crystal meth was unknown at press time because it had yet to be weighed, Eaton said, but that “it was pure.”
The four suspects were lodged in the Barren County Correction Center and remanded for federal authorities.
All four are facing federal charges in connection with the arrests and are set to appear in William H. Natcher Federal Courthouse in Bowling Green on Wednesday.
Assisting in the search were Sheriff Chris Eaton, Deputy Adam Minor and Detective Ann Phelps, along with detectives of the Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force, KSP K-9 Unit Trooper B.J. Eaton, ATF and Constable Buddy Houchens.
“DTF did a great job getting information and staying on top of it,” Eaton said. “I feel like without their existence we would not have been able to accomplish this.”
The investigation is ongoing by all departments, but is being led by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The task force had been working with the ATF with the case from the beginning, said Jeff Scruggs, director of the task force.
Anyone with information on any other illegal drug activity taking place in Barren County is urged to call the Sheriff's Department at 651-2771 or the Sheriff's anonymous tip-line at 646-8771.
