5:00 MORNING UPDATE: Man killed in Monroe County crash

GLASGOW — The Kentucky State Police, Post 15 in Columbia are investigating a crash that happened Sunday morning on Alexander School Road in Monroe County.

Joshua K. Hale, 29, was traveling east on Alexander School Road, operating a Jeep when he failed to negotiate a curve, according to a press release by the KSP.

The vehicle dropped off the roadway and struck a tree, causing the Jeep to catch fire, the release stated. Witnesses were unable to get to Hale before the vehicle became engulfed in flames.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, the KSP stated.
