10:51 MORNING UPDATE: Truck driver in I-65 wreck injured

GLASGOW — A Georgia truck driver was injured in an accident on Interstate 65 at mile point 47 at approximately 5:37 a.m. Monday, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.

Kenneth Bohannon, 51, of Hazlehurst, Ga., was traveling north on I-65 in his 2006 Peterbilt tractor-trailer when he observed a construction directional sign located in the center lane, and he attempted an evasive maneuver to avoid striking the sign and lost control of his truck, causing him to strike the concrete barrier wall, according to the KSP statement.

The truck was carrying lumber, which spilled from the trailer, according to KSP.

Bohannon was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow for non-life-threatening injuries, according to KSP.

One lane in each direction had been closed but all were reopened by approximately 9:15 a.m.

The collision is being investigated by Trooper Ronnie Reynolds.
