GLASGOW —
The Joint-City Planning Commission
of Barren County unanimously
recommended the approval of turning
residential zoning areas to highway
service business areas at Whitney
Woods Drive in Cave City for
the development of a Crossroads
IGA.
Houchens Properties, Inc. is looking
place a Crossroads IGA, designed
similar to one in Bowling
Green with a gas station in front, at
the corner of South Dixie Highway
and Highway 90. The business proposal
carves out around 11,000
square feet for the develop of the
grocery and gas station combination,
which also proposes for around 0.32
acres in back yards of properties 108
and 110 Whitney Woods Drive to be
utilized a buffer area between the
business and residential neighborhood.
No homeowners were there to
speak for or against the possible new
Crossroads IGA location.
Daisy Mae Haydon is the owner
of both the rental properties on
Whitney Woods Drive. If approved,
the decision will change the 0.32
acres from an R2 medium density
residential zoning location to a B3
highway service business.
