J-E moves fiscal court meetings to once a month

GLASGOW —

By virtue of an executive order announced by the Barren County Judge-Executive at Barren County Fiscal Court’s regular Tuesday meeting, in the future the fiscal court will only meet once a month.

After all other business on the agenda had been completed Tuesday night, Judge-Executive Davie Greer said she was changing the fiscal court’s schedule to meet only the third Tuesday of each month, a decrease from the twice a month schedule that Greer has used throughout her terms in office.

“Right now I think we can manage one meeting a month, lots of counties do,” Greer said.

She was making the decision as an executive order, Greer said, so magistrates did not vote on it and there was only a brief discussion.
