Edmonton man is arraigned for theft

GLASGOW — An Edmonton man was arraigned Wednesday in Metcalfe District Court on an embezzlement charge.

Rickey E. Cope Sr., 52, of 601 Reece-Hurt Road, was arraigned on a charge of theft by unlawful taking under $10,000 and over $500. His case was waived to the grand jury for indictment.

Cope is accused of misappropriating more than $3,000 from various daily deposits of the Edmonton IGA store from Nov. 1, 2011, to Sept. 7 causing those deposits to be less than the actual deposits.
