ACTION: Magistrates took the following actions: Approved minutes of July 13 regular meeting and minutes of July 16 special-called meeting; decided not to lease Mack 2011 tri-axle trucks due to the economy; agreed to turn over recovery zone bonds to Barren County for the development of the old Walmart building on L. Rogers Wells Boulevard; approved on first reading an ordinance relating to the Kentucky Association of Counties’ lease; agreed to allow Barren-Metcalfe Ambulance Fund’s certificate of deposit to renew as is; approved a budget transfer in the amount of $1,118.50; approved an agreement with the Green River Valley Water District to extend water lines along Cedar Top, Little Barren and Powell roads, which is a $75,000 project; and agreed to buy a van from state surplus property at a cost of $1,675 for the jailer.
DISCUSSION: A thank you note from CASA was read for the support the county has given the program.
