6:08 EVENING UPDATE: KSP investigates Adair County infant death

COLUMBIA —

Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 15 are investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby, according to a KSP press release.

The post received a call Wednesday at approximately 11:47 a.m. CST from Adair County Coroner Todd Akin, advising that the infant had been transported to the Westlake Hospital in Columbia by Adair County Emergency Medical Services after receiving a call that the baby was not breathing. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital and an autopsy is scheduled for early Thursday morning at the State Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the KSP statement.
