8:05 MORNING UPDATE: Man injured in single-vehicle crash

GLASGOW — A Cave City man was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Stovall Road on Tuesday at approximately 3:39 p.m., according to a Barren County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Travis S. Poynter, 18, of Cave City told emergency personnel that he was traveling north when he lost control of his 2001 Kia Rio; the vehicle went off the right shoulder of the roadway into a ditch, causing the vehicle to roll over and then come to a rest partially in the roadway, according to the BCSO statement.

Poynter was transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to the statement.

Deputy Mike Houchens is investigating the accident. He was assisted on scene by the Park City Fire Department.
