POLICE BRIEF: Vehicle collides with school bus

CAVE CITY — A crash involving a school bus and a Jeep happened Tuesday afternoon two miles south of Cave City on Louisville Road.

David B. Estes, 52, of Cave City, had his vehicle slide into the back of the school bus driven by Leonard C. Smith, 74, of Park City, when the bus stopped to drop off a child, according to a report from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.

No one on the bus was injured, but Estes was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital with injuries to his chest and shoulder.

The BCSO was assisted by the Cave City Fire Department and Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service.



Man charged with possession of drug paraphernalia

A Glasgow man was found to have suspected methamphetamine paraphernalia after being arrested by Glasgow Police for public intoxication Tuesday evening.

Paul L. Fields, 50, 109 Highland Ave., was found at the Embark Court apartments where the GPD officer determined him to be obviously under the influence of alcohol. Fields was arrested on alcohol intoxication in a public place, first offense, along with the felony first-degree promoting contraband and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense. The other charges came after the deputy searching him at the jail found aluminum foil with suspected methamphetamine residue on it.

Bond amount was unavailable.
