10:35 MORNING UPDATE: 84-year-old man charged in Grayson County shooting

CLARKSON — An 84-year-old Clarkson man has been charged with murder and assault, first degree, in the shooting death of a woman and the shooting of a man.

Alva Gussler, 84, of Clarkson, was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center after allegedly shooting, 59-year-old, Laura L. Ford, who lived in the home with Alva Gussler, and his son, 48-year-old Michael C. Gussler.

An argument at the home escalated to Alva Gussler allegedly shooting Ford in the chest. She was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Michael Gussler was shot in the arm and was treated at the hospital. His injury is non-life threatening. This incident occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. EST Thursday.

Troopers were called to the scene at 8:37 EST on Thursday night, according to a press release from KSP.
