6:01 EVENING UPDATE: Sheriff's office seeks burglary suspect

GLASGOW — The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information on an alleged stolen vehicle and apparent burglary that occurred probably between 8 and 11 a.m. Wednesday.

A family member had arrived at the residence on Happy Valley Road, just outside the Glasgow city limits going toward Cave City, and saw a black Honda passenger car with items from the residence lying behind the vehicle in the driveway, Sheriff Chris Eaton said. Upon seeing this, the person who made the discovery called 911 and did not attempt to enter the home, Eaton said.

When Eaton and deputies arrived, they found the back door of the residence had been kicked in and the house had been ransacked. After speaking with family members, it was determined that a Champagne-colored 1999 Nissan Maxima with license plate 575MVA, had been stolen from the residence.

After further investigation, they learned that the black Honda left at the Barren County home had been reported as stolen from a business in Louisville earlier on Wednesday, the sheriff said.

“We’re working jointly with Louisville Metro Police on this,” Eaton said.

He asks that anyone with information pertaining to this burglary, or if you may have seen the 1999 Nissan Maxima, contact the Barren County Sheriff’s Office at 651-2771 or the Sheriff’s Tip Line at 270-646-8771.
