GLASGOW —
At around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday a bomb threat call was received at Temple Hill Elementary.
The call was originally received at a local Temple Hill area business, Paul’s Minute Market. Employees at the market immediately relayed the message to Temple Hill Elementary administrators.
Barren County Schools Superintendent Bo Matthews said he didn’t think the threat was substantiated, but said it’s always best to err on the side of caution. School safety policy requires school officials to follow emergency procedures when any threat against the school is received.
Glasgow Police, Kentucky State Police and the Barren County Sheriff’s Office helped conduct a scan of the building.
Tony Richey, Temple Hill Volunteer Fire Department chief, said the school search took about an hour and a half, and Kentucky State Police bomb sniffing dogs were utilized in the search to make sure it was safe for students to return to school.
