9:19 MORNING UPDATE: Man charged with manufacturing meth

GLASGOW — A Barren County man was arrested Saturday following a drug investigation at a residence on Willie Groce Road.

Charles Steve Button, 56, of Glasgow was found hiding in a closet at the residence by members of the Barren County Sheriff’s Office and the Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force, according to a BCSO statement.

Deputies also located an active meth lab, along with equipment and other ingredients used to manufacture methamphetamine, according to the statement. Button stated that the items found in the residence belonged to him, according to the BCSO statement.

Button was arrested and charged with: manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense; possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; unlawful possession of meth precursor, first offense; and wanton endangerment, first degree.

Button was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center in lieu of a $25,000 bail credit with cash bond, according to the jail website.
