3:15 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Glasgow airport to get $297,366

GLASGOW — Nine airports across Kentucky are receiving grants totaling $2 million from the Federal Aviation Administration, including Glasgow Municipal Airport.

Gov. Steve Beshear announced the grants on Thursday that will improve runways, taxiways and runway lighting.

Beshear said the money will help keep the state's airports safe.

Ashland Regional Airport will get $843,226; Big Sandy Regional Airport, $300,000; Glasgow Municipal Airport, $297,366; Kyle-Oakley Field, $176,613; Mount Sterling-Montgomery County Airport, $126,055; Princeton-Caldwell County Airport, $105,000; Stuart Powell Field, $100,000; Cynthiana-Harrison County Airport, $74,741; and Morehead-Rowan County Clyde A. Thomas Regional Airport, $50,850.
