Bee Springs man killed during work on Ky. 90

GLASGOW — A construction worker who was helping pour concrete on the new Ky. 90/Burkesville Road was killed and three people were injured when the concrete form collapsed.

Kenneth E. Decker, 63, of Bee Springs in Edmonson County, was pronounced dead at the scene after the form on a nearly completed retaining wall they were constructing fell.

“They were nearly finished and the form turned over,” said Barren County Coroner Mike Swift, who responded to the scene, at 3939 New Burkesville Road. “The four that were injured were apparently at the top of the form when it toppled over.”

A female worker was transported by Air Methods to the University of Louisville Hospital for multiple but non-life-threatening injuries, Swift said. The other workers, both males, were transported by Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for multiple injuries. Names of the injured were not available.
