GLASGOW —
The city of Cave City, Barren County and some local law enforcement officers are trying to get a civil case against them dismissed.
Bobby Richardson, city attorney for Cave City, argued in Barren County Circuit Court on Monday to have a December 2011 suit filed by Ella June Jones dismissed on technical grounds.
Jones was arrested Dec. 17, 2010, by Cave City Police Officer James Skaggs for alcohol intoxication in a public place, according to court records. After being taken to the Barren County Detention Center and allegedly being combative with the jail deputies, Jones was then charged with third-degree assault of a corrections employee and third-degree terroristic threatening.
In her lawsuit, Jones accuses Skaggs, Barren County Jailer Matt Mutter, Deputy Jailer Gaye Jones, Deputy Jailer Janice Davidson, the city of Cave City and Barren County of false arrest, assault and wrongful imprisonment.
