GLASGOW —
After the Barren County Fiscal Court did not pass a motion to publish investigative documents of the Barren County Detention Center on the government website, one magistrate decided to commission a website that would post all the information in one easy format.
Magistrate Chris Steward, after fighting for most of a year to prevent the documents compiled by private investigator Mike Ober from being made public as the law demanded, has now opened the website barrenjailinfo.org. The site includes downloadable files of audio interviews, typed interview notes and four additional documents related to the jail and the open records court case against the Barren County Fiscal Court over the records.
“Here you will find information made available via the recent court decision on the investigation into the Barren County Jail by an independent investigator,” the website states. “Nothing has been edited into or out of to change the contents to presume anyone(‘s) innocent or guilt.”
