GLASGOW — A local business has had items stolen from it for the second time in just over a month.
Ben and Elmer Tractor Company on Burkesville Road was struck by thieves again this past weekend. While one investigation continues into the theft of mowers at the business, another has begun.
Two zero-turn mowers were taken in mid-August in the first incident. Over the weekend, two more were taken in the same manner as the others with the perpetrators cutting through a fence, driving them to an open field area where they were loaded onto an unknown vehicle, according to a Barren County Sheriff’s report.
The mowers taken this weekend are described as a Scag 8468 Turf Tiger mower 61” cut with a 29 hp Kawasaki engine and a GX 2703 Dixie Chopper mower 60” cut with a 25 hp Kohler engine.
The mowers taken back in August were described as a Scag 8738 Tiger Cub mower 48” cut with a 19 hp Kawasaki engine and a Scag 8901 Freedom Z mower 48” cut with a 19 hp Kawasaki engine.
Anyone that may have seen suspicious activity at anytime at this location this past weekend should contact the sheriff’s office at 651-2771 or the Sheriff’s Anonymous Tip Line at 646-8771.
