DATE: Sept. 14, 2009
ACTION: City council members took the following action: Approved minutes of Aug. 3 meeting; approved on first reading an ordinance setting the 2010 motor vehicle and water craft property tax 15.20 cents per $100 assessed value; approved on first reading an ordinance setting the 2009 property tax rate at 0.77 per $100 assessed value; and agreed to close a portion of East Stockton Street during the Pumpkin Festival; block off parking area behind the old jail and Metcalfe County Justice Center for a tractor show during the Pumpkin Festival.
DISCUSSION: Council members discussed whether mobile barbecue businesses are in compliance with the city’s business license requirements. No action was taken.
REPORTS: Council members heard the following reports: water, sewer, gas, police, park and recreation and fire reports.
