GLASGOW — A local business has had items stolen from it for the second time in just over a month.
Ben and Elmer Tractor Company on Burkesville Road was struck by thieves again this past weekend. While one investigation continues into the theft of mowers at the business, another has begun.
Two zero-turn mowers were taken in mid-August in the first incident. Over the weekend, two more were taken in the same manner as the others with the perpetrators cutting through a fence, driving them to an open field area where they were loaded onto an unknown vehicle, according to a Barren County Sheriff’s report.
The mowers taken this weekend are a Scag 8468 Turf Tiger mower 61-inch cut with a 29 hp Kawasaki engine and a GX 2703 Dixie Chopper mower 60-inch cut with a 25 hp Kohler engine.
The mowers taken back in August were described as a Scag 8738 Tiger Cub mower 48-inch cut with a 19 hp Kawasaki engine and a Scag 8901 Freedom Z mower 48-inch cut with a 19 hp Kawasaki engine.

Metcalfe man arrested on drug charges
A Metcalfe County man has been arrested on multiple drug charges.
David James Bell, 34, of 311 Jay Bell Rd., Edmonton, was taken into custody by Glasgow Police officers following a traffic stop for reckless driving on Monday.
Sgt. Wesley Medley and Capt. David Graves arrested Bell on a warrant previously issued by the Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force.
Bell was charged with four counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance; second-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a gambling device; permitting gambling; and second-degree promoting gambling.
He was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center on a $2,500 surety bond on the permitting gambling offense.
Officers arrest Tennessee man
GPD officers also served a Barren County warrant against a Tennessee man for multiple sex offenses on Friday.
Antonio Aviles Macedo, 23, 189 Rolling HIlls Lane, Red Boiling Spring, Tenn. is charged with fist-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sodomy, use of a minor under the age of 16 in a sex performance and two counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Macedo is being held at the Barren County Correction Center on a $10,000 surety bond.
Most Wanteds arrested
The publication and broadcast of names on the Sheriff's most wanted List has led to multiple arrests of wanted subjects.
Deputy Steve Clark received an anonymous tip Sunday night, regarding the whereabouts of David L. Hatchett, 48. Clark responded to the location and found Hatchett where he was taken into custody for second-degree assault and third-degree terroristic threatening, according to a sherriff’s office report.
Also Winston J. Coats, 26, turned himself into Deputy Steve Runyon on Monday. He is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the Influence of alcohol/drugs second offense within five years, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, display or possession of cancelled or fictitious operators license and possession of marijuana.
In addition a third man from the most wanted list is in custody after Nicholas D. Hodges, 27, of Cave City, turned himself into Capt. Danny Coomer of the Cave City Police Department and Barren County Sheriff’s special deputy Robert Smith, according to a sheriff’s office report.
Hodges was wanted on a Barren County warrant for second-degree assault; first-degree unlawful imprisonment; two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and third-degree terroristic threatening.
Hodges was arrested Monday at 7:20 a.m. and lodged in the Barren County Correction Center on $25,000 cash bond.
All the aforementioned subjects were lodged in the Barren County Correction Center.
