ACTION: Magistrates took the following action: approved minutes of Aug. 20 meeting and special-called meeting on Sept. 10; agreed to donate $500 to Imagination Library literacy program; accepted resignation of Anthony Holcomb from the airport board; agreed to set the following tax rates per $100 assessed value: County — 8.8 cents, real estate, which will be $88 on a $100,000 home; 10.0 cents, personal property; 10.0 cents, motor vehicle and watercraft; Ambulance — 6.3 cents, real estate; 7.8 cents, personal property; 7.0 cents, motor vehicle and watercraft; Library — 4.9 cents, real estate; 6.57 cents, personal property; 2.3 cents, motor vehicle and watercraft; Soil Conservation — 1.8 cents, real estate; Extension — 4.6 cents, real estate; 7.38 cents, personal property; 5.8 cents, motor vehicle and watercraft; Health — 4.0 cents, real estate, personal property, motor vehicle and watercraft; appointed Sheryl Conkin as Section 504 coordinator; approved jail canteen balance of June 30; agreed to waive county’s building permit fee for new justice center; adopted a resolution to blacktop roads; approved general, jail and road claims; and approved road advisory committee projects.
