Staff report
Glasgow Police responded to an unusual call Saturday afternoon.
A grenade was found by a resident while she was cleaning out some old boxes at the Dalton Bowles residence at 205 Sandwood Drive, according to Lt. Col. Kent Keen, GPD public information officer.
The grenade appeared to be a World War II era “pineapple” type, Keen said.
Because officers were uncertain if the device was still live, military personnel were called in from Fort Campbell to dispose of the grenade. It was secured in a container and removed by truck.
Members of the Glasgow Fire Department and Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service also responded to the scene.
The woman who found the grenade didn’t want to be identified, according to Keen.
No other information was available at press time.
