GLASGOW — A Summer Shade woman was injured in a head-on collision Tuesday on West Main Street.
Betty J. Young, 57, of 249 Whitlow Road, was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the wreck.
The wreck occurred around 12:30 p.m. on West Main Street. Young was traveling westbound on West Main and pulled her vehicle into the center turning lane.
Young told police she was waiting to make a left turn into the parking lot of Tobacco For Less when a motorist, who was traveling eastbound, motioned for Young to turn, according to reports from the Glasgow Police Department.
Young said she didn’t see another vehicle driven by James Matthews, 53, of 212 Sunset Ave., Glasgow, who was traveling eastbound in the right lane of West Main Street.
Young failed to give Matthews the right of way, causing the vehicles to collide.
The front left of Matthews’ vehicle struck the right side of Young’s vehicle.
After the initial impact, Young’s car made an 180-degree counterclockwise spin and came to a final rest facing northeast in the eastbound lane, police reports said.
Matthews’ car continued traveling eastbound after the impact and came to a final rest against the curb on the right side of the eastbound lane.
Matthews refused transportation to the hospital, but complained of minor neck and back pain, police reports said.

Allen County teens injured in wreck
Two Allen County teens were injured in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday on the Bowling Green Road in Allen County.
The wreck occurred around 3:30 p.m. when Kyla Dozier, 17, of Scottsville, lost control of the 2001 Silver Pontiac she was driving. The southbound vehicle veered off the left shoulder of the road, then reentered the road and began to spin, striking an embankment on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The car overturned and came to a final rest on the driver’s side, according to Kentucky State Police reports.
Kyla Dozier and a passenger in the car, Katie Dozier, 15, also of Scottsville, were transported to The Bowling Green Medical Center by the Allen County EMS. Katie Dozier was treated and released, but Kyla Dozier was transferred to Vanderbilt University by helicopter due to a broken neck.
At press time Kyla Dozier was listed in critical condition.
Warren County man arrested for murder
A Warren County man was indicted Tuesday on a murder charge by a Simpson County grand jury.
Brian Inghram, 20, of 1128 Morgantown Road, Bowling Green, was arrested by Kentucky State Police after police discovered the body of 46-year-old Ronald E. Gosnell, of 11373 Morgantown Road, Woodburn, at his home.
Gosnell allegedly died following an altercation with Inghram.
According to state police reports, officers responded to the scene on a 911 call of an assault.
Following a domestic dispute, Gosnell and Inghram got into a verbal argument that ended with Inghram assaulting Gosnell, state police reports said.
Inghram was still at the home when police arrived.
Gosnell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Simpson County Coroner, state police reports said.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place at the Medical Examiner’s office in Louis-ville.
After consulting with the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Inghram was lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center and charged with murder, state police said.
