2 hurt in Friday accident

GLASGOW — A two-vehicle accident Friday night at the Austin Tracy Road and Hagan Road intersection injured both motorists.

The crash occurred just before 7 after Waneta Bender, 80, of Fountain Run, turned left off Hagan Road in a 2006 Dodge Caravan and onto Austin Tracy Road, according to the Barren County Sheriff’s Department.

Bender turned into the path of Rondall Matthews, 55, of Fountain Run, who was driving a 1995 Dodge Stratus. His vehicle struck the Caravan in the side.

Both drivers were taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, where Bender was treated and released. Matthews was later taken to Vanderbilt Hospital.

Deputy Adam Minor investigated and was assisted by Deputy Matt Mutter and the Austin Tracy and Fountain Run fire departments.
