MEETING: Barren County School Board
ACTION: Approved a revised building and grounds permit (BG-1) and BGs 2 and 3 for the new North Jackson Elementary School; approved design and development drawings for the North Jackson Elementary School project; approved a one-percent increase in salaries for certified and classified staff. Superintendent Jerry Ralston said that would cost an additional $213,000; approved an option to spend $178,000 to purchase property on East College Street to use for more administrative offices and the district’s housing program; approved BG-1 for the aforementioned property; approved an amendment to the 2008-09 school year by closing schools on March 26 and 27 to coincide with the state Junior Beta convention; approved a state multiple listing for textbook adoption; approved a request for a proposal for an energy audit.
