Glasgow man pleads guilty

In U.S. Court to selling crack cocaine

GLASGOW — A Glasgow man pleaded guilty Thursday to distributing crack cocaine.

Jamie Lynn Brown, 25, of 617 East Main Street, admitted to Judge Thomas Russell of the U.S. District Court in Bowling Green that on Sept. 14, he sold approximately 5.723 grams of crack cocaine to a confidential informant, according to David L. Huber, United States Attorney for the western district of Kentucky.

Brown also admitted to having an additional 2.733 grams of crack cocaine at his residence on the same day in question.

The street value for the drugs is approximately $800.

Maximum potential penalties are life imprisonment, a $4 million fine and supervised release for a period of life. The minimum potential penalties are five years imprisonment and supervised release for a period of four years.

Brown has two prior felony convictions, including second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school, according to Huber.

The attorney also praised the Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force for working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in helping to get this “drug dealer out of circulation,” a press release stated.

Final sentencing is set for Oct. 6 at 11:30 a.m., in Bowling Green.
