GLASGOW — A Cave City man is behind bars following his arrest Friday in Horse Cave for distributing obscene material to a minor.
Fairley Piercy Sr., 61, faces two counts of the charge. He was arrested by members of the Horse Cave Police Department and lodged in the Hart County jail following an investigation.
Over the course of the investigation, police allege that Fairley sold multiple “XXX” rated DVDs to juveniles.
At the time of Piercy’s arrest, police allege that he was in possession of 275 “XXX” rated DVDs and VHS cassettes, several pornographic magazines, four CB radios used for advertising the business and its mobile location, miniature televisions and a DVD player used for sample viewing of the material and a Jeep Cherokee that housed all of the pornographic matter and equipment used for the business.
In 2003, Piercy was arrested by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department for distributing obscene matter, according to court records from the Simpson County Circuit Clerk.
The citation states that Piercy was selling obscene materials from the back of a van at the Pilot Truck Plaza, while advertising the merchandise – including “XXX” rated movies – over a CB. As part of the probe, a Simpson County deputy paid $30 for four movies; the cash used for the purchase was recovered in the purse of Piercy’s wife, Patricia.
The Horse Cave investigation is ongoing, with more charges and arrests to follow. It is headed by Horse Cave Deputy Chief Joe Middleton, who is being assisted by officers Chris Johns and Sean Henry.
