GLASGOW — The honorees of the Glasgow Daily Times’ second-annual Her Story event were recognized at a reception Tuesday evening.
Each woman received a special plaque with her name engraved on it. The 2008 group is comprised of Julie Adkins, Charlotte Beals, Martha Bragg, Brenda Chaney, Beth Faught, Davie Greer, Sheri Lee, Karisa Peterson, Ann Phelps, Elaine Richardson, and Golda Walbert.
“I’m eternally grateful for somebody who put my name in the pot,” Walbert said as she accepted her award.
Richardson summed up the feelings of many of the honorees by saying she had been surprised.
“I was a little overwhelmed when I received notification that I had been honored,” she said.
Many also took the time to pay tribute to their fellow Her Story honorees.
“I’m honored to be with such a wonderful group of ladies,” Beals said.
