GLASGOW — Summer may not be over yet, but South Green Elementary is getting their students ready for the new school year.
The school will hold its annual Back-To-School Bash on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event is at the school.
During the event, students will be able to meet their teachers for the 2008-09 school year, as well as play games and get vision screenings from Dr. Ashley Mayhew. Chiropractor Dr. Derek Oldenkamp will conduct posture screenings and talk about backpack safety.
Tammy Spillman, with the Family Resource Center, said that Dr. Cassady, a dentist, will provide information about dental health and teeth cleanings.
Spillman said the event is a way to let parents and children know about services in the area.
“We’ll have different people here – The Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA will be here with information about their services,” she said.
The Glasgow Fire and Police Department will also attend.
Parents will also be able to update enrollment information, fill out free and reduced lunch applications and pay student fees. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided.
