Phillips joins GPD
GLASGOW — Patrolman Quentin Phillips hit the ground running during his first week as the newest member of the Glasgow Police Department.
The Edmonson County native, 43, has been working school traffic, general patrols and accidents.
“I’m very excited (about) working here,” Phillips said.
Phillips, who was sworn in Monday, comes to Glasgow after spending more than four years with the Brownsville Police Department. He completed the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond on Aug. 20, 2004.
“My dad was a state trooper and, years ago, my mother was a deputy down in Todd County,” he said. “It just hit me that’s what I wanted to do in life.”
Phillips said he decided to come to Glasgow because of better benefits and the chance to further his law enforcement career.
“My intentions are to give the people of Glasgow 100 percent, as I did with the city of Brownsville,” he said.
In addition to his law enforcement credentials, Phillips is also a certified volunteer firefighter and first responder in Edmonson County.
“I just enjoy the ability and the training to be able to help people,” he said.
