MUNFORDSVILLE — ACTION: Magistrates approved on first reading an ordinance amending the county’s 2008-09 budget by $32,998, which is the prior year carryover of funds; agreed to set the 2008 real property tax rate at 9.8 cents per $100 assessed value, which will generate $558,259 in tax revenue; agreed to set the 2008 personal property tax rate at 12.10 cents per $100 assessed value, which will generate $42,808 in tax revenue; agreed to set the 2009 watercraft tax rate at 12.10 cents per $100 assessed value, which will generate $3,712 in tax revenue; agreed to set the 2009 motor vehicle tax rate at 12.10 cents per $100 assessed value, which will generate $95,142 in tax revenue; agreed to hire Amy Nunn as a part-time 911 dispatcher; appointed Thomas Ferren to the Hart County Public Library board of directors; approved magistrates’ road project list; and approved claims.
REPORTS: Magistrates heard reports from the jailer, solid waste coordinator, road department supervisors and the DES agent.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Solid waste drop off-dates are Oct. 6-11 in Munfordville and Oct. 16-18 in Horse Cave. Magistrates, as well as county department heads, will undergo training for Homeland Security funding on Sept. 18 at the courthouse. No outdoor burning is allowed, except for wood burning.
