Man allegedly attacks wife with hatchet

GLASGOW — A Glasgow man was arrested on assault charges after allegedly attacking his wife with a hatchet.

Rufus Allen Pedigo, 37, of 200 Garnett Avenue, Apt. 2, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault (domestic violence) and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment, according to the Glasgow Police Department.

Authorities say they received a complaint of Pedigo assaulting his wife with a hatchet. When units arrived, the wife was inside the residence with a large knot on her head and several small lacerations on her face.

Pedigo’s child also had swelling on his neck due to the altercation, police said.

Pedigo was said to have been drinking prior to the dispute. He was located in a bush after fleeing on foot.

GPD Officer Jesse Barton was the arresting officer.
