Woman killed; deputy sought

SMITHS GROVE — Authorities are searching for a Simpson County sheriff’s deputy after a woman was killed Sunday in her driveway.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Todd Holder says a murder warrant has been issued for 41-year-old Deputy Randall Creek of Bowling Green.

Holder says 46-year-old Debbie R. Rediess was fatally shot outside her home Sunday morning in Smiths Grove.

He says detectives believe Rediess was Creek’s ex-girlfriend and the couple dated for five years.

Holder says anyone finding Creek should not try to append him but instead should contact authorities because he is believed to be armed with at least a handgun and a shotgun.

Holder says Creek is believed to have been a deputy for less than a year.
