IN MINUTES: Glasgow Electric Plant Board
GLASGOW — ACTIONS: Approved the following: minutes of previous meeting, operating and financial report for October, contract with Hilliard-Lyons for financial adviser services relative to upcoming bond issue for new substation, EPB Christmas bonus plan, execution of new mutual aid agreement with other utilities as required by FEMA, support of new economic development initiative, Sustainable Glasgow, so long as TVA approves EPB’s financial support by providing matching funds and approved the recommendation of cable programming committee and authorized Superintendent William Ray to execute agreements with broadcasters as well as approving a $1.75 per month rate increase beginning Jan. 1 to basic cable service to finance payments demanded by programmers.
DISCUSSION: After a lengthy discussion with representatives of WBKO, it was decided to enter into an agreement with the broadcaster even though there was no reduction in fees that could be negotiated.
